fALL SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
On Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st, the HTH PTA will be hosting the fall Scholastic Book Fair in the HTH library. Students will be given the opportunity to shop during their ELA lesson on one of these days. Other than books there will be the opportunity to purchase posters, stationery and other gimicky items.
A flyer will be sent home with the students to give them an idea of what books may be available for sale. If you would like a sneak peak you can go to the Scholastic online store and check out the available books. If your child was unable to purchase the book they wanted at the book sale or was absent on the days of the book fair, they can purchase any books at the following website, which will be available from November 15th - November 28th.http://www.scholastic.com/bf/herbermiddleschool
Due to recent changes in NY State laws, the PTA can no longer sell books to the students tax free. Any purchases made by students will be charged a 8.625% NY tax rate. Please ensure that you send sufficient money for your child to purchase their books and cover the taxes.
When sending your child in with money, the PTA would prefer that any cash is under the amount of $20, as the PTA can not be held liable for any lost/misplaced cash. We prefer that parents send in a check , made payable to the HTH PTA. Please leave the amount of the check blank and notate in the memo section the maximum amount your child can spend. Your child will be sent home with a receipt of what they have purchased.
The PTA will need volunteers during the Book Fair and would live for any family members to volunteer for what ever time you are able to assist. If you are able to volunteer, please call me at (917) 495 5018 or reply to this email ([email protected]). We are most grateful for whatever time you can offer.
